Kam-organ
 

In 1671 organ-builder Nicolaas van Hagen from Antwerp was commissioned to build a new instrument. Lack of money and the war against France resulted in a slow progress of the construction. In 1674 only half the organ had been completed. Eventually the instrument was completed in 1678 by Carl. Jacobsz. Pellereyn, an organ-builder from Dordrecht. The organ front was crowned with the family insignia of the four church masters; in the middle the insignia of Holland and the text 'Vigilate Deo confidentes'. On the positive the insignia of the town of Dordrecht was placed. After various changes W.H. Kam from Rotterdam in 1859 eventually built a completely new organ in the old cases. In 1867 the organ-builder Witte made changes in the disposition. Thus, among other changes, the thirds were removed from the Mixture stop and the Sharp stop on the Manual was replaced by a Gemshorn 2' stop. In 1939 G. van Leeuwen and Sons provided a general re-intonation, during which a new Viola di Gamba 8' was added to the Swell and a new Violon 16' to the Pedal. Furthermore a semi barker-lever was placed on the Manual. In 1987 a restoration of the mechanisms was executed by Ernst Leeflang. 

As from the autumn of 2007 organ-builder Reil from Heerde has been working on the instrument during the winter months. These activities were completed in April 2010. At present the instrument is entirely restored and we can enjoy its 'rejuvenated' beauty.
